Lowell S. Paul M.D., a resident of White Lake, Michigan, died on August 15th, 2026 at the age of 77. Funeral services arranged by The Dorfman Chapel.
Dr. Lowell Paul, 77, passed away on August 15, 2026, following a brief illness. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Lowell graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine and devoted the next 48 years of his life to the practice of internal medicine. Being a physician was far more than a profession to him. It was his calling. He continued caring for patients until just a few weeks before his passing.
Lowell possessed an extraordinary combination of intelligence, humor, generosity, and compassion. His patients were never simply names on a schedule. He took the time to sit with them, listen to them, laugh with them, and know them as people. Over nearly five decades of practice, many of those relationships grew into enduring friendships. To the end, Lowell's life was committed to the care of his patients, many of whom became like family to him.
His wonderful sense of humor was never far from the surface, even as his kindness and concern for others remained at the heart of who he was. Those fortunate enough to know him—as a husband, friend, mentor, or physician—will remember both how readily he could make them laugh and how deeply he cared.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Roy D. Paul and Annette Paul, and his only brother, Lewis James Paul. He is survived by his devoted wife Lauren and many close lifetime friends. He will be remembered as the absolute kindest, most generous man and will be greatly missed by countless people.
