Helen "Jake" Fried was an extraordinary woman—an incredible intellect, a force of nature, and someone whose strength, talent, and determination inspired everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Born on December 11, 1939, Jake grew up in Canton, New York, where her love of music and the arts flourished. She spent her summers at the renowned Interlochen School for the Arts, nurturing a gift that would remain with her throughout her life. A gifted concert pianist, Jake possessed exceptional musical talent and, with her dedication and ability, could have pursued music professionally. She was also a gifted athlete who excelled in tennis and golf and was so accomplished on the ice that she had the talent to become a professional figure skater.

Jake attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she continued to cultivate her many talents and lifelong love of learning. Shortly after graduating, she married, Paul Fried, and together they built a family that became the center of her world.

Jake was the devoted mother of three children: Harry, Ronnie, and Debby And mother in law to allison, ally and michael. She poured her heart into raising them, offering unwavering support, unconditional love, wise guidance, and steadfast encouragement throughout their lives. Her greatest pride was watching her family grow.

She was a cherished grandmother to Danny, Evan, Jason, Sarah, Andrew, and Julianna, ashley, Samantha, jake and Emmy as well as her new grand son Mikey and a proud great-grandmother to Alek, Sarah and Wyatt. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love she shared with each of them will remain a lasting gift.

Jake also loved to travel, embracing opportunities to see the world and experience new places. Whether performing at the piano, competing on the tennis court or golf course, gliding across the ice, or sharing precious moments with those she loved, she lived with passion, grace, and determination.

Those who knew Jake will remember her as intelligent, resilient, compassionate, and fiercely devoted to the people she loved. She possessed a quiet strength that carried others through difficult times and a generous heart that made everyone around her feel supported and valued.

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
