William "Bill" S. Hoffman, a resident of Boynton Beach, Florida, died on June 16th, 2026 at the age of 82. Funeral services arranged by The Dorfman Chapel.

The family will be sitting through Monday evening at the residence of Nancy and Howard Collens, 13102 Nadine Ave. Huntington Woods MI 48070

Religious services will be held Sunday and Monday evenings at 7:00PM.

Shiva Hours:
Sunday- following the interment until 8:00PM
Monday- from 1:00PM until 4:00PM, then 5:00PM until 8:00PM.

Family Members:
Bill was a beloved spouse to Betty Hoffman for 60 years, a loving father to Lauri (Ellman) and Larry Hoffman and Nancy (Hoffman) and Howard Collens, and adoring Zaydie to his 5 grandchildren. Bill was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Fannie and Murray Hoffman.

Bill’s passion and professional career was spent researching, designing, negotiating, and implementing programs to raise the standard of living for working class men, women, and children across the country. Spending 22 years working for the International Union, UAW, he focused on health care, retirement, disability benefits, and layoff income protection issues in the federal-state public policy and collective bargaining arenas. Upon his retirement in 1997, he continued to be a trusted advisor and consultant for various public and private sector union and corporate leaders and organizations.

He loved playing golf and being a loyal fan of his Detroit and hometown Pittsburgh sports teams.

Bill graduated from Otterbein University and received his PhD in Sociology from Wayne State University.

He is survived by his wife Betty; children Lauri and Larry Hoffman, Nancy and Howard Collens; grandchildren Adena, Max, and Morgan Collens, Lucy and Lyle Hoffman; and brothers Robert Hoffman and Richard Hoffman.
