It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Stanley Winagar on December 30th, 2025 at 73 years old.

Peter is survived by his former wife, Nancy Winagar. Dear father of Michael (Amanda) Winagar and Rachel (Andrew) Pautsch. Loving grandfather of Benjamin and Emily Winagar. Devoted brother of Lawrence (Jori) Pazner and the late Marvin Winagar. Step-brother of Susan (David) Berger and Barbara (Stephen) Cheifetz. Adoring nephew of Joseph Winagar and Sylvia Kargauer. Also survived by many other loving family members and friends.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1952, Peter moved to Windsor, Ontario in the early 1960's as a young boy where he would spend his teens and early adult life. He would travel between Windsor and Detroit where he would go on to meet Nancy. They were married in 1983 in Windsor and started their lives together. They moved to Michigan in 1989 where he would reside for the rest of his life in the Metro Detroit suburbs. He helped raise Michael and Rachel while being self employed, having a wide variety of jobs over the years, and still being there for his children's various activities.

Peter had a fond love for cars, trains, photography, music and having conversations where he could share his vast variety of knowledge and random facts with whomever had spare time to listen.

In his later years Peter was a proud grandfather to Benjamin and Emily. As their "Pepa" he would spend time watching Law and Order with Benjamin while babysitting or listen to music with Emily and show her things on his cell phone.

He will be sadly missed by everyone as he was always there for anyone who needed it. Peter will live on in the hearts and memories of all those who loved him.
