Family Members:

Kermit grew up in Lincoln Park where he spent his childhood and graduated from high school. He then went on to graduate from Wayne State University as a music major. His true craft was playing the trumpet, where he found his passion. He started playing the trumpet in elementary school and continued throughout his life. He played in a variety of jazz bands, community concert bands, oldies bands, big bands and wedding bands.

He selflessly volunteered for the salvation army playing the trumpet at Christmas time, as well as transporting dogs for Almost Home Animal Rescue. He worked for 25 years as a systems data administrator for Compuware, from which he retired.

Kermit’s calm presence, great sense of humor, and love will be deeply missed by his family, friends, dogs Truman & Moo Moo, and his band community.

Beloved husband of Toni Kasander. Dear father of Cameron (Vanessa Valla) Prill. Devoted brother of Ernest (Patt) Prill. Dearest brother-in-law of Bonnie (Stephen O'Rourke) Kasander. Also survived by many other loving nieces, nephews, other family members and a world of devoted friends.
