Family Members:
Dr. Michael David Perlman, 64, of Englewood Cliffs, NJ passed away on December 10, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A beloved husband and proud father, he is survived by his wife Roseann (Picciano); son, Thomas; and daughter, Stephanie Fein (Dan). Michael also leaves behind his dear Aunt Linda Ross; Uncle Dennis Eder; cousins, Rob and Randy Kaplan, and Zach Eder; and Aunt Pet Nosan. Michael is now reunited with his cherished mother, Arlene Eder, grandparents Jack and Julia Eder, and Uncle Manny Nosan.
Michael grew up in Southfield, Michigan, attending Southfield High School and then Michigan State University’s Lyman Briggs College. He went on to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine where he met his future wife, Roseann. Michael completed his residency at Harrison Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, and went on to grow his own practice in Northeast New Jersey where he was affiliated with many hospitals.
Michael loved his work, impacting thousands of patients and colleagues alike. Even while suffering from his own health concerns, his top priority was that of his patients, pushing through pain and discomfort to make sure they had the best care possible.
Michael had a passion for anything science or math related, loved butterflies, and was a never-ending source of random facts and bits of information. As an eternal optimist, nothing ever shook him or got him down, his glass was truly always half full. His positive presence influenced many, as he loved mentoring others to pass on his knowledge and life lessons. His example inspired his son to change careers, becoming a nurse to help others like his father.
As a devoted father, Michael enjoyed time spent with his family, rocking out to The Who, trips across the globe, cruising in his convertible, and just hanging at home watching movies. He also enjoyed sharing his wine collection and good food with family and many friends. These memories will be cherished forever.
Per Michael’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held as his preference was that everyone celebrates his life and the times shared together
