Family Members:

Lois Kirschbaum was born in 1929, an only child to Stanley and Lucille Kirschbaum in Detroit Michigan. Survived by many beloved cousins, extended family and friends. She was an avid lifelong learner, intellectually bright, and active in local organizations throughout her adult life.

Lois served in leadership positions as both secretary and president of her local chapter of the Purple Heart for veteran assistance. As a person with a lifelong vision impairment, she continually engaged productively and meaningfully in her community. With a mind as sharp as a tack, Lois had a pristine memory of places she'd been and people she knew. Right down to names, places, and driving routes, as well as family genealogy. Lois was studiously observant of the world around her.

As a resident of Hechtman II in West Bloomfield for 21 years, Lois regularly participated in a wide range of community activities including bingo, knitting, and current affairs classes. She kept up on local news, and enjoyed family get togethers, holidays and special occasions with her extended family, including a family get together for the Jewish new year Rosh Hasanah just a week prior to her passing. Lois passed peacefully with family around her on October 5, 2022.
