Family Members:

Larry Solomon, 87, of West Bloomfield, died on Wednesday, August 24. He was the son of the late Sam and the late Rae Solomon. He is survived by his partner Gail Schmitz, his three children: Eric Solomon of Novi, Michigan, Douglas Solomon (Lauri) of Burlingame, California, and Jill White (Robert) of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Michael, Stephanie, Rachel, Daniel, Joshua, and Elyse. He was a devoted brother to Charles (Barbara) and the late Irwin (Susan). Larry was a loving partner, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was a U.S. veteran who served as an army medic in South Korea and later devoted his career to government service, working in finance for the City of Detroit. He won the City of Detroit public high school tennis championship and played tennis for Wayne State University. While serving in the Army, he won the All Forces Far East Tennis Tournament. Larry was a kind and much-loved person who will be greatly missed both on and off the court.
