- Sandra/Sookie (Blitstein) Edelstein-Ordower, 88. Passed peacefully at home, the morning of April 15th. Sookie was the Beloved wife of the late Ivan Edelstein and the late Norman Ordower. Cherished mother of Jeffrey (Marcia) Edelstein and Faye (Steven) Adelson. Bubbie of Carly Edelstein (Ben Cooper,) Alex Edelstein(Elizabeth Drake,) Sari Adelson (Grant Boss,) Ivan (Talia Pinto Handler) Adelson. Great Bubbie of Charlie and Izzy Cooper. Sookie is also survived by Norman’s children and grandchildren Rob and Alissa Katzman (Sam and Noah,) Marni and Jeff Rosenthal (Alanna, Evan, Carly) and Matthew and Oana Ordower. Sookie was the beloved daughter of the late Minnie and Joe Blitstein, sister of Faga (the late Milton Clapham) the late Nathan and Roma Blitstein, the late Fay and Meyer Ordower and the late Dotsie and Arthur Brown. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and a world of friends.
Sookie always had a smile on her face and a warm hug to give. She was a kind soul, embracing all whom she met, never passing judgement. The kind of person we all should be. We are grateful to her caregivers Dee Dee Mims and Loretta Smith along with the Henry Ford Hospital Hospice staff.
