Family Members:

Russell earned a Bachelor and Master's in Economics at Wayne State University. He was a 35-year State Employee in the State Tax Assessor's Office. He was witty and sarcastic and a life-long promoter of equal justice and equal rights for all. He was an avid supporter of wildlife and progressive politics. Russell was a life long learner who taught English to immigrants from the former Soviet Union and learned Russian in his late 70s in order to better communicate with Russian immigrants, receiving awards for his volunteerism.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Glenn (Nancy) Hoffrichter of Franklin, Michigan, Bruce (Beverly) Hoffrichter of Pahrump, Nevada, Lynne Cookson of Novi, Michigan, Lawrence Mirvis of Wixom, Michigan, Ilene (Steve) Leff of Dunwoody, Georgia, Ronald Mirvis and the late Neal Hoffrichter. Also survived by many loving great nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. Russell was the last surviving sibling to 7 brothers and sisters.
