Beloved wife of the late Neal Turner, loving daughter of the late Abraham and Bernice Tukel, dear sister of the late Florence Sandweiss-Goode. Loving, devoted and proud mother of son Paul Turner, grandson Joel Turner, daughter Laura Turner (Scott Lynn).
Sara Lee had a positive influence on all that knew her.
During her career in Public Health Service while in Americus, Ga she served as Resource Mother for young women. There she was a mentor, teacher, counselor, “granny” and friend, impacting the lives of 4 generations of families.
In retirement she devoted her time reading to Pre-kindergarten students at Cherokee Elementary School and Sumter County Primary School. Enriching the lives and minds of over 5000 children and was affectionately known as the “The Book Lady”. She served on the Lake Blackshear Library Friends Board for several years.
