Family Members:

Florence was born June 16th, 1930,in New York Cityto Abraham Bronstein, a kosher butcher, and Gertrude Bronstein, a landlord. She was the youngest of her three sistersAnna, Yetta and Pauline. Florence married her late husband Murray Ackerman on November 22, 1949. They lived in the Chelsea area of Manhattan. Murray owned a small deli and Florence first worked as a receptionist for a clothing marking company and then as an employment counselor, a job she loved. Florence and Murray enjoyed traveling, socializing, spending time with family and belonged to a cousin’s club that lasted decades. Florence lived in NYC, New Jersey, and Michigan. Florence made friends easily. She enjoyed MahJongg, live theater and her family. She was a captivatingand prolific storyteller.

Florence is survived by her daughter Susan (Mal) Hillman, son Ivan Ackerman, granddaughters Stephanie (Jeff) Henige and Alyssa (Cameron) Pinnock, grandchildren Casey and Kyle Ackerman, and great grandchildren Max, Reese and Paige (Henige), Chloe and Cate (Pinnock), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
