Beloved wife of the late Yale Phillips. Dear mother of Helene (Paul Zerkel) Phillips, Michael (Lynn (Madelyn) Phillips, and Toni (Tim) Foley. Loving grandmother and great grandmother of Marc (Fiance, Lacey Patterson) Zerkel, David (Nami) Goldenberg, Elana (Goldenberg) Jeff Gell, Erik, Craig (Annie) and Margeaux Phillips, Jennifer, Timmie and Brendan Foley. Gali, Eytan and Rafi Goldenberg, Sloane and Ellie Phillips. Loving sister of Rosie Schwartz. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Irene was born to Oscar and Goldie Klaper on January 13,1930 in Detroit, Michigan. She married the love of her life Yale Phillips at the ripe age of 19 after he asked her to marry him over a piece of apple pie. They were married for over 60 years.
The two would go on to have three wonderful children: Helene, Michael and Toni. Irene loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. Irene was an executive administrative assistant first at Silvers Office Supply and then working with her husband Yale at his Company Able Office Products.
Irene was very active with Northwest Child Rescue Women. She devoted many hours helping to run the charity including the position of President. Her hobbies were Sewing, Shopping, Mahjong, Bridge, Pan, Reading, Needlepoint, Bowling and Golf. But her favorite was her time spent with her family.
