Clara Dan, a former Detroiter of Hollywood, FL., passed away peacefully on May 11, 2019 at age 97.
After a happy marriage, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bela Dan. Her charm, grace and caring for her family was evident in everything that she did and was obvious to everyone that met her. Prior to leaving Detroit, she worked with her husband in their business at River Oak Center Dry Cleaners in Dearborn Heights. Everyone that knew her loved seeing her and being around her. Clara and her family were members of B'nai Moishe Synagogue in Oak Park.
Clara was born in Romania and was the youngest of a very large family. She was a holocaust survivor and then moved to Detroit with her husband after she was liberated. For many years, Clara volunteered at the Miami Holocaust Center and at Memorial Regional Hospital.
She is survived by her children Shirley and Jay Gottlieb, her grandchildren Amy and Lonny Greenberg and Lori and Stefan Miller and her four great-grandchildren Alison, Vivienne, Brennan and Brooke.
