Family Members:
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Jerry Samuel Hooker died on September 4th in West Bloomfield Township, MI after his long battle with cancer. He was 74.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sheila; daughters, Susan and Jessica; sisters, Bonnie and Wava Jane; grandchildren, Aaron, Samuel, Nina, and Helena; and sons- in- law, Scott and Jim.

Jerry was born on May 24, 1944 in Detroit, MI to Frank and Wava Hooker. He graduated from Walled Lake Central High School in 1962, attended WMU briefly thereafter, and then joined the US Air Force, where he served in Vietnam. He earned his Associates Degree in Business Administration from OCC.

Jerry worked for 30 years at Numatics Incorporated in every department, from transport to assembly to sales, and started his own tool and die company, Deacon Manufacturing, where he worked for another 10 years.

Outside of work, Jerry shared his talents in a wide array of interests, projects and passions, from woodworking to motorcycles, bird watching, gardening, genealogy, and building miniature rooms and dollhouses, to furniture restoration. Two of these interests lead to his writing and publishing two books: one detailing his family history and the second a historical look at motorcycle postcards. He was also an avid traveller, journeying with Sheila to continents and countries around the globe.
